چکیده

In high-transition-temperature superconducting cuprates and iron arsenides, chemical doping plays an important role in inducing superconductivity. Whereas in the cuprate case, the dominant role of doping is to inject charge carriers, the role for the iron arsenides is complex owing to carrier multiplicity and the diversity of doping. Here, we present a comparative study of the in-plane resistivity and the optical spectrum of doped BaFe₂As₂, which allows for separation of coherent (itinerant) and incoherent (highly dissipative) charge dynamics. The coherence of the system is controlled by doping, and the doping evolution of the charge dynamics exhibits a distinct difference between electron and hole doping. It is found in common with any type of doping that superconductivity with high transition temperature emerges when the normal-state charge dynamics maintains incoherence and when the resistivity associated with the coherent channel exhibits dominant temperature-linear dependence.

Superconductivity induced by Ni doping in BaFe2As2 single crystals

A series of 122 phase BaFe2−xNixAs2 (x = 0, 0.055, 0.096, 0.18 and 0.23) single crystals was grown by the self-flux method and a dome-like Ni doping dependence of the superconducting transition temperature was discovered. The transition temperature T on c reaches a maximum of 20.5K at x = 0.096, and it drops to below 4K as x > 0.23. The negative thermopower in the normal state indicates that th...

Possible Sign-Reversing s-Wave Superconductivity in Co-Doped BaFe2As2 Proved by Thermal Transport Measurements

Thermal transport measurements have been performed on single-crystalline Co-doped BaFe2As2 down to 0.1 K and under magnetic fields up to 7 T. Significant peak anomalies are observed in both thermal conductivity and thermal Hall conductivity below Tc as an indication of the enhancement of the quasiparticle mean-free path. Moreover, we find a sizable residual T -linear term in thermal conductivit...

Similarities between structural distortions under pressure and chemical doping in superconducting BaFe2As2.

The discovery of a new family of high-T(C) materials, the iron arsenides (FeAs), has led to a resurgence of interest in superconductivity. Several important traits of these materials are now apparent: for example, layers of iron tetrahedrally coordinated by arsenic are crucial structural ingredients. It is also now well established that the parent non-superconducting phases are itinerant magnet...

Nature of magnetic excitations in superconducting BaFe1.9Ni0.1As2

Since the discovery of the metallic antiferromagnetic (AF) ground state near superconductivity in iron pnictide superconductors1–3, a central question has been whether magnetism in these materials arises from weakly correlated electrons4,5, as in the case of spin density wave in pure chromium6, requires strong electron correlations7, or can even be described in terms of localized electrons8,9 s...

Superconductivity at 22 K in Co-doped BaFe2As2 crystals.

Here we report bulk superconductivity in BaFe1.8Co0.2As2 single crystals below Tc=22 K, as demonstrated by resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat data. Hall data indicate that the dominant carriers are electrons, as expected from simple chemical reasoning. This is the first example of superconductivity induced by electron doping in this family of materials. In contrast with cup...
